The line chart below indicates the amount of four kinds of meat eaten by people in a European country between 1979 and 2004.
As can be seen from the chart,in the year of 1979,the largest consumption of meat went to beef which accounted for 220g per person per week.The second was lamb with 150g followed by chicken with less than 150g.The smallest amount of consumption went to fish,only purchased more than 50g.After that the consumption of beef decreased greatly to 180g then recovered significantly to its top,reaching at almost 230g per person per week in 1980.Then after a dim and a climb the amount of beef dropped greatly from the peak to the bottom(100g) between 1980 and 2003.However the trend of chicken experienced a totally contrary situation.More precisely,after a little fluctuate,in nearly 1980,the amount of chicken shoot up in next 20 years,peaking at 250g ultimately.As regards lamb,it fallen dramatically to more than 100g in 1980.From this point onwards,the amount of lamb dropped gradually to more than 50g per person per week in 2004.Concerning fish,the amount remained stable at 50g over the whole time.
To conclude,chicken replaced beef and became the favorite meat in 2004.
