体育锻炼是多一些好还是少一些好?(英语作文)优质解答
Exercise:How much is enough?
Exercise is promoted as the holy grill of healthy living, especially in this fat and calorie-filled society. This society is fattening up fast and sees exercise and its remedy. Before we race into more jogging and bench-pressing,it is worthwhile to take a step back, sit on the couch and think for a bit exactly how much exercise is necessary,to stay fit,to fit in and to still have a life.
Modern life is fast-paced,no doubt about that, that's probably at the core of weight-gain.We,as a society, has lost the time to stop and smell the roses.Instead,we sit at our desks, scribbling away like I am doing now, always catching up to the newest assignments, always trying to out do ourselves,at nobody's expense but our own. It's no wonder that death due to heart failure, liver damage, kidney failure and respiratory problems are up.We've sacrificed our own health for a future that, without a clean health bill,we just might not have.Life must love irony.
The problem for most people is that a good health takes investments in the form of time and energy, investments that they just may not have. The recommended amount of cardiovascular exercise is 45min a day,ask anybody in their last year of high school to spare 45min a day doing something other than cramming and they'll smack you over the head. For those in the work place, the situation is no better.Deadlines come at you at the speed of light, while the high employment rate still hangs over your head like the Sword of Damocles.Time is the most precious asset any human can possibly hope to own,yet at often times, life gets the better of us,such that our time is surrendered to and for those holding power, money,or our next grade. But time should not be an excuse for the absence of exercise.Nobody is busy all the time.It is important to work when necessary, and at those times, exercise time may be cut back or wholly eliminated. However,it is always possible to find that extra few minutes to stretch or play some ball.
Too little exercise finds you in the state of the current global economy, immobile, overweight and struggling to get back on its feet. This is life-threatening and will come back to haunt you.So instead of taking the bus to school, ride a bus next time.Instead of using the elevator, take the stairs.Instead of finishing one more level on that video game,go jog a mile, you'll sleep better.
Of course, that is not to say that you should beef up like Mr.America.There are two major forms of exercise, aerobic and anaerobic exercise.Anaerobic exercise trains strength, this is what builds those impressive biceps and triceps, unfortunately, they do nothing for your health.Too much anaerobic exercise leads to cardiac hypertrophy, which is enlargement of the heart due to the increases stresses to which it is exposed. This makes the heart bigger but more fragile, but can lead to heart disease.Aerobic exercise,on the other hand, cannot get any healthier. It trains the respiratory and cardiovascular system, and indirectly benefits most organs of the body.It is worth noting that short of tearing a muscle or collapsing from exhaustion, you can never have too much aerobic exercise.More exercise can only make you healthier.
However, this brings us to our original dilemma. If no exercise is too much, when do we stop? The answer is,when it begins to interfere with your day-to-day life.Exercise is critical, yes, but it is done for better life, not at the expense of it.A job,an university,a relationship, many other aspects of life compete with your exercise time, and at often times, they win, with good reason.Opportunities come once in a life time, exercise helps you grasp these opportunities, but should never stand in their way.
