When a baby kangaroo is born, it is about the size of a bean! The little hairless baby climbs into the "pocket" on the front of the mother's body. Even after a baby kangaroo is too large to fit in the pouch, it will stay with the mother for a few more months.

Kangaroos have very large back legs and feet. While they look cute and lovely, it is important to remember that kangaroos are wild animals. They often fight with each other, sometimes as a kind of social play. Australian Wildlife Centre tells people never to feed or get close to kangaroos.

The sheep farms cover much of the Australian countryside and are good homes for kangaroos. The kangaroos drink the water and eat the sweet grasses on the farms. Of course, the farmers are not always happy to share with the kangaroos.
