They built it 8 years later. It was the first modern bridge built by China without help from foreign countries. The bridge became a popular place. The bridge was so important, and it is a symbol(标志) of Nanjing. At over 5,000 feet long, the bridge carries both cars and trains. Its upper part is a highway, while the lower part is a railway.
Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge has changed the life of people in Nanjing. Before the bridge was built, people and things could only cross the river by boat. People had to disassemble(拆开) the trains and put them onto the boats in order to carry the trains across the river. Since the bridge was finished, the bridge has changed the life of the people in Nanjing. It has made people’s life so much easier. It takes people less time to cross the river to the town center.
