1. One of the most popular New Year’ s superstitions is that you should kiss your beloved and dear ones at the stroke(报时的钟声)of midnight.It is said that those who fail to do so will have cold relationships with their loved ones for a whole year.
2.The New Year should not begin with unpaid debts. It is always said that all the bills should be paid off before the old year closes.
3.We can’t take anything out of the house on the first day of the year. Actually, some people think it’s okay to remove things from the house so that something else has the chance to be brought in.
4.The first person to enter your home after stroke of midnight will influence your luck in the year. It is believed that this person should ideally be dark – haired, tall, and good – looking. Nobody knows whether it is true or not.
5. According to Chinese traditional custom, we usually don’ t sleep until one or two o’clock in midnight on New Year’ s Eve. There are two meanings. The first, .the old should treasure every second they have in their rest life; the second, the young hope for longer life for there parents.
